I’m not stuck in my emotions, I'm making space for what comes up.

If I had known that as a kid, I would have been less anxious. I wouldn't have learned to work so hard, so young. I wouldn't have grown up believing that getting overwhelmed was a bad thing.

I created this enamel pin as a reminder for myself that my emotions make sense. They've always made sense, even when I was criticized for it as a kid.

My emotions are here to tell me when my boundaries have been crossed.
When my inner world is shaken.
When my grief swallows me whole.
When safety feels unfamiliar but it's good for me.

Do you need a reminder to do things like drink water or take a pee break? Umm cuz I do🙋🏻‍♀️ Sometimes I feel ashamed that I need a reminder for “basic” self-care then I realized that it happens during stressful periods. I freeze. So I made this interactive pin as a way to help myself. As a kid, this idea made me feel relieved and terrified. What if you make it out alive and it’s just as bad?

Days when there was just nowhere to land, it was these exact words that kept me going. I continue to make room for my difficult and hard-to-name feelings and just let them be.
